  What I thought was going to be a lovely Mother’s Day dinner turned into such a beautiful and unforgettable evening. The entire team at L’Étoile made everything feel so seamless and special, and I’m so grateful for the care that went into every detail. A special thank you to Giulia for helping make the night so meaningful, to Bruno for overseeing everything behind the scenes, to Abby and Yorman for the wonderful service, and to Gerardo for the fantastic cocktails and wine presentation. Even on a busy Mother’s Day, everyone made us feel genuinely cared for. It was such a heartfelt night, and I’ll always remember it. Thank you to the whole L’Étoile team.

  L’Étoile gave us one of the most meaningful and unforgettable nights of our lives. This was not just a dinner for us — it was an incredibly special and emotional evening tied to so many important moments in our lives. It was Mother’s Day, our wife’s first Mother’s Day after welcoming our first child last year, and it was also just ahead of our wedding anniversary. Most importantly, it was the night I chose to finally give my wife the proposal she had always deserved. When we got married, I never formally proposed to her, and that had stayed on my heart for a long time. I wanted to create a beautiful and meaningful moment for her — something heartfelt, memorable, and worthy of everything she means to me. L’Étoile helped turn that vision into a reality more perfectly than I could have imagined. From beginning to end, everything went flawlessly. My wife was so incredibly happy, the proposal itself was beautiful, and the video of the moment came out heartwarming. It is something we will cherish forever. What could have been a stressful process to plan became something seamless because of the extraordinary people at this restaurant. Above all, I want to give my deepest thanks to Giulia. She was absolutely incredible throughout this entire process. From the earliest planning stages to the final execution, she helped hold my hand every step of the way. She was kind, patient, reassuring, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making sure this night was everything I hoped it would be. Her support meant the world to me, and I truly do not think this evening would have been the same without her care and guidance. I also want to sincerely thank Bruno, who oversaw the planning and helped make sure everything came together exactly as it should. He also helped store the ring and letter safely in advance, which gave me tremendous peace of mind. For a moment this important, that level of trust and professionalism meant so much. A big thank you as well to our servers, Abby and Yorman, who were wonderful throughout the evening. They helped everything feel smooth, elegant, and natural, and their attentiveness played a big part in making the night flow perfectly. A very special shoutout also goes to Gerardo, the head bartender. He was fantastic. Not only did he curate a wonderful spring cocktail menu just in time for our dinner, but he also gave an excellent presentation of the 2018 Bourgeois we selected. His recommendations were spot-on, and it was obvious how much passion and pride he takes in what he does. What stood out most to me was that every single person we interacted with clearly demonstrated genuine love, passion, and care for the experience they create. Nothing felt routine. Nothing felt transactional. It felt like the team truly understood how important this night was and took pride in helping make it unforgettable. What makes it even more impressive is that they executed everything so perfectly on Mother’s Day, one of the busiest days imaginable for a restaurant. Even with all of that, they still found the time, focus, and attention to detail to execute every part of our evening exactly as planned and completely to a tee. I truly could not have chosen a better place for such an important moment in our lives. L’Étoile has it all — warmth, elegance, professionalism, outstanding hospitality, and a team that genuinely cares. Thank you again to Giulia, Bruno, Abby, Yorman, Gerardo, and the entire L’Étoile team for helping me give my wife a proposal she will never forget. We will always be grateful for the role you played in one of the most special nights of our lives.

  Amazing time at L'Etolie last night. We attended a wine dinner and Russel Bevan the acclaimed wine maker was there to personally showcase his wines paired with a fantastic tasting menu. I cannot say enough about the service and how attentive the staff was. This is one of our go to restaurants for a great meal and just a warm inviting atmosphere. Shout out to Bruno!

  This place is incredible! If you happen to be in Oyster Bay you need to check it out. The specials are always so tasty. The food is not your typical French cuisine - they really put a lot of attention into each dish and use seasonal flavors and ingredients. And, we always sit at the bar and Gerardo is absolutely the best server and bartender. This is a new go-to spot for me and my partner!

  Incredible meal from start to finish! Wish we had room for dessert! Lobster appetizer was fresh and delicious, as were mussels, and short rib onion soup was spectacular. Vol Au Vent chicken and mushroom stew was came in a delicious puff pastry, poulet roti came on a bed of delicious mashed potatoes, mussels came fresh in a delicious white wine sauce and the burger was one of the best my son has had. Service was terrific, restaurant was beautiful and we will definitely be back!

  My wife and I went to L’Etoile in Oyster Bay for Valentine’s Day, and it was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt romantic and elegant — the perfect setting for a special night out. The food was exceptional. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of authentic French flavor. It’s truly unique to have such a refined French restaurant right here in town. For a few hours, it genuinely felt like we were back in Paris — intimate, charming, and unforgettable. We’re so lucky to have a place like this in Oyster Bay. Highly recommend for date night or any special occasion! 🇫🇷🍷✨

  We recently had dinner at L'Etoile and were very impressed! Service was impeccable, all dishes delicious, cocktails and wine top notch. Atmosphere is nice and cozy, works equally well for a romantic outing or a family gathering. We will definitely be back and would love to see some weekend brunch / lunch hours as well. Would also be great to see the desert menu evolve with some additional French classics (Pavlova, profiteroles etc).

  Great experience! The food is delicious, but can be super rich depending on what you get. Portion sizes are huge! We got the French Onion Soup (amazing), Baked Brie (also amazing), Lobster Thermidor (fantastic), Magret de canard (very good), Vol au Vent (a bit too rich for me), Moules Mariniere (perfect), asparagus (nice, thick, and clean), potatoes gratin (perfect), and the crepes flambé (great way to end). Aniss, our server, was fantastic! Great sense of humor and on top of everything. Overall, really solid restaurant! Will return!

  One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Also, Gerardo at the bar made this one of the greatest dining experiences my wife and I have had in a long time. Highly recommend. Gets crowded. If you don’t have a reservation- sitting at the bar with Gerardo will make your evening.

  A Standout Gem on the North Shore Gerardo, the bartender, was easily the highlight of the evening. He’s that rare mix of skill, charm, and genuine hospitality that makes dining out feel special again. He wasn’t hovering — he knew exactly when to check in and when to let us chat, pacing the experience intuitively so it felt effortless and natural. Every drink he made, from a tequila cocktail with a large ice cube and orange peel to my glass of Pinot Noir, felt intentional, thoughtful, and perfectly timed. It’s rare to meet someone whose intuition makes the whole evening flow so beautifully. But it wasn’t just Gerardo. The food was equally unforgettable. We started with a dozen oysters that were so fresh and flavorful we immediately ordered another round. The mussels in tomato Provençal sauce were incredible, paired with fries that were crisp, golden, and perfectly seasoned. The frisée salad was light and refreshing, balancing the richness of everything else. And the Wagyu beef tartare with crostini was silky, flavorful, and probably my favorite — yet it was perfectly complemented by every other dish, including the warm French baguette from their own bakery. Every bite felt intentional, expertly prepared, and utterly satisfying. Normally I’d prefer a table, but the bar was such an incredible spot to sit side by side, chat, and watch the magic unfold that I’ll hope for these seats again next time. Later we learned the couple sitting next to us were the owners. They were warm, approachable, and clearly proud of what they’ve built. You can feel that care everywhere — in the thoughtful layout, the attentive but not intrusive service, and the energy of the staff. I’ve lived in LA and NYC and just moved back to Long Island. This is the first restaurant here that genuinely impressed me. A true standout gem on the North Shore, a place where everything, from the drinks and food to the service and vibe, is absolutely perfect. I’ll be back again and again (and can’t wait to try their sister restaurants). PS. Will add photos!

  Beautiful, fresh food done perfectly and traditionally. Every single course was outstanding, not over done, perfectly seasonal and seasoned. Excellent service from our waitress Julie and the management. The space is bigger and more spacious and makes the ambiance excellent even when busy. The bottle wine list is pretty great and desert wine perfectly finished a round of outstanding desserts. Highly, highly recommend.

  Enjoyed the ambiance, the food and authenticity. Bruno was very nice and anise our server was very professional and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy and high end bistro style. With table lamps, marble tables and an active bar. The menu offers classics and I spites dishes. Enjoyed it very much.

  A new French restaurant in Oyster Bay. I highly recommend this place. Everything is good. I can't recollect the French names of food. But the white fish special was awesome, albeit it was like $55. Prices are not for someone faint at the heart! If you can afford it, definitely give it a go.

From the atmosphere to the food, every detail was thought out throughly and top notch quality. Expectations were exceeded from the planning to execution. I’d recommend them for any event or just an evening out to dinner. This restaurant is an amazing addition to the town of Oyster Bay.

  Such a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere and great food. The service is impeccable and you are transported to the streets of Paris with the ambiance, music, and authentic cuisine. Esmeralda and Gerardo are personable and create a lively atmosphere. The host, Giulia, was extremely accommodating and made sure we were taken care of. You can’t go wrong wrong with a date night or dinner here!

  First of all, G at the bar is stellar. Service is always on point. Food is at worst apt, is occasionally very pleasant. I’m a snob and life long industry vet, so make of it that you will. The menu is a little uneven, with entrée-sized apps (priced as such), so a true two- or three-course menu feels unattainable. I am a fool to complain of aggressively portioned dishes, but hey, here we are in the year 2025. I want to say: each time I leave, I’m full and fat and happy. Each time I come in, I feel better and better about my decision to do so. Is this a simple and good place, if a bit expensive? Yes. Yeah. But those are fewer and fewer in this world. A good thing, a happy and nice thing, must never go to waste. This is just that. I’m glad for places like that. L’Etoile is a very good place for just a nice night.
