An afternoon for the new arrival.
L’Étoile sits on South Street in the historic Snouder’s Building, five minutes from Oyster Bay’s waterfront. The room is candlelit, the menu is classic French, and an afternoon shower here unfolds unhurried, exactly the way the day should feel.
A room set for the moment.
A shower here is a private event, not a corner of a dining room: the space, the menu and the pacing are set for your party alone. For the wider picture of how we host groups, see private dining.
- The private dining room on the lower level, or a full buyout of the first floor
- A menu built with the kitchen, dietary needs accommodated
- Champagne service and a curated wine or non-alcoholic pairing on request
- Floral and cake coordination through our event partners
- Quiet weekday afternoons, with the room and the team to yourselves
Planning the day.
Can a baby shower run in the afternoon?
Yes. Regular service is dinner, which is exactly why a weekday afternoon shower gets the room and our full attention to itself. Tell us the date you have in mind.
How many guests can you host?
It depends on the style of the event and the setup of the room: seated lunch, standing reception, or something in between. Share your headcount in the inquiry and we will tell you honestly what works.
Can the menu be tailored?
Yes. The menu is built with the kitchen for each event, and dietary needs are accommodated. A Champagne toast, a mocktail list for the guest of honor, and dessert coordination are all easy asks.
Where should guests park?
Street parking runs along South Street, and the municipal lot is one block east. The LIRR station is an eight-minute walk for anyone coming by train.
Tell us about the day.
Share the date, the headcount, and any details that matter: a dietary need, a favorite flower, the guest of honor’s first name. Someone from our team writes back within one business day.
